Standard 2: Content Pedagogy

I have included lessons from the course that I currently teach, Digital Video Production. I am constantly working on improving my pedagogy with the goal of brining all students up to standard in television production. When teaching young students, we are in competition with a variety of distractions. The use of computers in the grade school classroom is both a blessing and a curse. These lessons are an example of how we can utilize the computers to create an interactive experience with the content rather than just use them a digital lecturer. Providing students with content that is available on all platforms is essential for quality instruction which is why I choose Google and YouTube.

Standard 2.1 Creating

Keyboard Shortcuts is website that was created as a part of group project. We collaborated to create the content with interactive quizzes, videos and information about keyboarding shortcuts. This is an excellent example of the power of multiple methods of teaching. Students were able to read information, assess their understanding and utilize the information that they’ve learned in a real world setting.

Standard 2.2

Editing 101is an online tutorial that teachers beginning students the fundamentals of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro CS6. This video tutorial is the most appropriate use of technology because teaching editing in video form allows the student to see the processes as they are being performed. The student can start, stop and go through the functions with the video.

Standard 2.3

The front end analysis of the Keyboard shortcuts video was a part of a larger project which you can see in standard 2.1. This analysis includes the needs of our audience, the goals of our product, and an assessment of the our Target audience from the surveys we conducted. We broke down the date into an easy to read chart that categorized the clients and shows their response.
